Most strategy prompts are useless because they invite the model to be vague. Ask for a business plan and you get 900 words of filler you could have written yourself in the time it took to read it.
The prompts below do the opposite. They hand ChatGPT your real revenue, your real competitor, your real constraint, and demand a specific artifact back: a 90-day plan with weekly milestones, a decision matrix, a pricing recommendation. These are three of the ten strategy prompts from the 50-prompt business pack, shown in full.

What you get from this category
- A 90-day growth plan with weekly milestones, not a paragraph that says focus on marketing
- A SWOT that names the risks you have been avoiding, because the prompt tells it to be brutally honest
- A pricing recommendation built from your actual cost, your actual price, and your competitor's actual price
- A go/no-go framework for entering a new market, so the decision stops being a vibe
Why these prompts work when free lists don’t
Every prompt in this library is built from the same four parts. That is the whole difference between a prompt that returns an essay and a prompt that returns something you can send, print, or ship.
1. RoleTell the model who it is. “Act as a business strategist” changes the vocabulary and the confidence of the answer.
2. ContextYour real situation, in the [brackets]. Revenue, city, competitor, the awkward detail. This is the part most people skip and the part that does the most work.
3. FormatExactly what comes back: five emails with subject lines, a table of weekly milestones, three description styles. If you don’t name the shape, you get prose.
4. Success criteriaWhat good looks like. “Irresistible without being cheesy.” “Direct but kind.” “Be brutally honest.” This is what stops the filler.
Worked example, from this page:
I run a [type] business with $[X] annual revenue. Create a 90-day growth plan with specific weekly milestones.
Role and success criteria are stated, the format is implied by what it asks for, and every [bracket] is a context slot for you to fill. Fill them with real numbers and real names and the output is a deliverable, not a draft.
How to use these prompts
Fill every [bracket] with a real number or a real name before you hit enter. A strategy prompt with empty brackets returns a strategy essay. The same prompt with $180K revenue, four employees, and your competitor's name returns a plan you can put on a calendar on Monday morning.
Three mistakes that waste a good prompt
- Asking for strategy without giving constraints. Budget, headcount, and time horizon are what make the output usable instead of inspirational.
- Accepting the first answer. Run the same prompt twice with different competitors named and compare. The gap between the two answers is where your real exposure lives.
- Skipping the decision matrix. When you have three options, which is best is unanswerable. Score these against these five criteria is answerable.
Questions people ask
Will these work on the free version of ChatGPT?
Yes. Every prompt on this page runs on the free tier. A paid model gives you longer context, which matters if you paste a full profit and loss statement, but the prompts themselves are written to work in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
How is this different from just asking ChatGPT for a business plan?
Structure. Each prompt specifies a role, your context, the exact shape of the output, and what a good answer looks like. That is why you get a table of weekly milestones instead of four paragraphs about leveraging synergies.
What else is in the strategy category?
Ten prompts total. The seven not shown here cover business model risk analysis, market expansion go/no-go, Q4 OKRs, growth budget allocation with expected ROI, a competitive battlecard, preparing to sell your business in two years, and a decision matrix.
150 prompts. Three packs. $15 once.
Business, content creation, and real estate — 15 categories, lifetime access, no subscription. Works in ChatGPT (free tier is fine), Claude, and Gemini.
